Byers provides a balance of western heritage and family-friendly traditions with easy proximity to the city. Just 21 minutes east of Highways E-470 & I-70, Byers lets you get away from it all while keeping you close enough to be in the middle of it all. The town is even closer to large employers in the east-metro area, such as Denver International Airport, The Children’s Hospital, the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Hospital, and many major warehouses and distribution hubs.
Academic achievement is a major part of the community. Starting as a one-room schoolhouse, the Byers School District has grown into an elementary and junior/senior high school campus that includes a new football field and an all-weather track. Community involvement is also important. The Byers Park and Recreation District and the Byers Community Association host numerous events throughout the year, including the annual Easter egg hunt, the Fourth of July rodeo, parade and festivities, and the annual Christmas parade.
